Middle Polish and pl-p

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that terms that are Middle Polish only do not get automatic templates such as pl-p or declension tables, also pl-p doesn't need the star in front it, plus pl-p has a parameter mp=, so that if a word existed in Middle Polish as well, you can add the IPA (see for example skłaść, which has both because the term is attested after the Middle Polish period, too). That is not a natural language, and not an ISO 639-3 code. We don't include conlangs except for Esperanto, Ido, Interlingua and Volapük. See WT:CFI. Thadh (talk) 12:05, 24 June 2023 (UTC)

If you feel very strongly about it, you should create a discussion at WT:BP, but I doubt you'll have a lot of support. Even Toki Pona, which is much more prominent than this language (which I haven't heard of before, and I suspect you have created) has not been included on Wiktionary in the mainspace. See, it's clear you know what you're doing, and could probably help out a lot if you really put your mind to it. But none of us can tell you what to do. I'm just coming to say that good edits like the above won't save you from blocks, because when they're mixed with obvious vandalism like the bæby and phône pages, we'll have to look at each edit in detail to see whether it's one of the good ones or the bad ones. And even if you were to do 95% good edits and just sneak a few jokes in, that still requires people to look at every single edit you make. I understand the appeal of it from your end, but the rest of us, even people who start out welcoming you with open arms, will rapidly run out of patience. That's all I have to say on this subject for now. If you end up deciding to just accept this and get yourself blocked, I wish you all the best in finding a new, more creative hobby. Empty Bulgarian categories, especially rhymes

Hi,

You've created several empty Bulgarian categories, e.g. Category:Rhymes:Bulgarian/ɔvɛk and Category:Bulgarian 2-syllable words. For the rhyme, I have a hard time thinking of a word in Bulgarian that ends in -о́век. If you were thinking of чове́к, the rhyme there is -ɛk. I think this rhyme category should be deleted.

The 2-syllable category is premature, because the Bulgarian pronunciation module doesn't yet report the number of syllables of a word. When we get that functionality, then it would be the right time to create a category like that.

I appreciate your desire to be helpful, but it's probably best you left Bulgarian category creation to Bulgarian editors, for now.

As I told @Chernorizets, with the exception of a few maintenance categories that are normally supposed to be empty, we routinely delete empty categories any time we see them. There's no need to tag them- it may take a few weeks, but they all get deleted no matter what. Chuck Entz (talk) 21:16, 3 September 2023 (UTC)
