Wiktionary uses a small number of exceptional codes to represent specific varieties of languages in etymology sections, while not having full entries in those languages.

Is there a specific place to discuss what unwritten dialects are appropriate for inclusion? Has the inclusion of the currently included items even been discussed anywhere, or is this just a grab bag of varieties that editors interested in etymology have at some time thought fit to introduce codes for? --Tropylium (talk) 10:18, 19 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

No specific place. We do not have enough contributors to discuss dialects and come to a consensus. The Iranian dialects were discussed just between me and User:ZxxZxxZ. If I add Armenian dialects, I am going to do it just by myself. --Vahag (talk) 14:27, 19 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
