Request 2022-09-06[edit]

I need to edit MediaWiki:Edittools but it requires some rights. Judging by Special:ListGroupRights, i suppose it requires editinterface right (interface-admin, sysop group). So i request to grant me interface-admin group.

Apparently, there is no specific page for such requests, unlike autopatrolled (Wiktionary:Whitelist), bot (Wiktionary:Votes/bt), checkuser (Wiktionary:Votes/cu), bureaucrat (Wiktionary:Votes/bc), sysop (Wiktionary:Votes/sy). —Игорь Тълкачь (talk) 16:11, 6 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Useigor: Interface administrator is a highly confidential user right, probably even more confidential than sysop—abusing or misusing the right can compromise users’ privacy, or even make edits in other users’ names. If you don’t need to touch CSS or JavaScript, I encourage you to ask sysop right—or propose introducing a group named “interface editors” on enwiktionary, which would have only the editinterface right (or maybe additionally editsitejson, but definitely not editsitecss and editsitejs), and request that right. This right (interface editor) exists on a few wikis, including the Portuguese and Turkish Wikipedias, as well as the French and Greek Wiktionaries. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 23:08, 6 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Apparently mention of this page is not enough, therefore i ping the most active bureaucrats: @Surjection, Chuck Entz. Gadgets are located in MediaWiki namespace and now i need this group to be able to add gadget that can accelerate references checking.—Игорь Тълкачь (talk) 12:47, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Applying for this right[edit]

@This, that and the other. What is source of this statement: "The right is not given to non-administrators"? Is it from discussion or observation? If observation, then it is likely false. —Игорь Тълкачь (talk) 14:09, 26 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Useigor Observation. I removed it. Thanks. This, that and the other (talk) 00:36, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
