Etymology[edit]

Coined by Thomas Henry Huxley, from Ancient Greek ξανθός (xanthós, fair, yellow, golden, blond), and either χρώς (khrṓs, skin), or ὠχρός (ōkhrós, pale).

Noun[edit]

Xanthochroi pl (plural only)

  1. (dated, anthropology) A division of the human population having fair skin and wavy blond hair.
