Romanian[edit]

Alternative forms[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Vulgar Latin *eccu(m) illā(c), from Latin eccum + illāc. Compare Portuguese and Galician acolá, Spanish acullá, Italian colà.

Adverb[edit]

acolea

  1. (popular) there
    Synonym: acolo

Usage notes[edit]

This is a folk variant of acolo and less commonly used, but differs slightly in that it expresses a location that is nearer to the speaker than that word does.
