English[edit]
Etymology[edit]
From Ancient Greek ἀκούω (akoúō, “to hear”) + φαίνομαι (phaínomai, “to appear”) + -metry.
Compare French acouphène, Italian acufene, Spanish acúfeno, and so on. The expected English spelling would be acouphenometry (cf. acoustic), but this term is mainly used by non-native speakers.
Noun[edit]

- (non-native speakers' English) The measurement of tinnitus.
