Vietnamese[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Sino-Vietnamese word from 版權, composed of (copy) and (right).

Pronunciation[edit]

Noun[edit]

bản quyền

  1. (informal) copyright

Adjective[edit]

bản quyền

  1. (informal) copyrighted
  2. (informal, of copyrighted material) legally acquired
    100% bản quyền
100% legally acquired, 100% not bootlegged or pirated

Usage notes[edit]

  • bản quyền is "informal" in the sense that it is not a term used in the Luật Sở hữu trí tuệ (Intellectual Property Code), which uses quyền tác giả (authors' rights). It is not really "informal" to use it to translate the English copyright.
