1. (archaic) To cover with chalk, or whiten as if with chalk.
   • 1840, George Darley, Thomas À Becket: A Dramatic Chronicle, in Five Acts, page 51:

   • 1856, Richard Cumberland, Memoirs of Richard Cumberland:
