Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish بالفعل (bilfiʿl),[1][2] from Arabic بِٱلْفِعْلِ (bi-l-fiʕli), from بِـ (bi-) +‎ اَلْ (al-) +‎ فِعْل (fiʕl),[3] equivalent to bil- +‎ fiil (work, deed, action, verb).
