blue grama (usually uncountable, plural blue gramas)

  1. A species of perennial grass native to inland parts of the western and central United States into neighboring areas of Mexico and Canada, especially the northern Great Plains, Bouteloua gracilis, which is important as a food grass for grazing animals and used in drought-tolerant landscaping.
