Etymology[edit]
Borrowed from Latin bracae, plural of braca, from Gaulish *brāca, of Germanic origin, from Proto-Germanic *brōks; akin to Old High German bruoh (“pair of breeches”) and to Dutch broek (“pair of trousers”).
