    • 2020 October 7, Philip Haigh, “Network News: Excavations to push Carmont reopening back to November”, in Rail, page 14:
A typical catchpit consists of a stack of concrete segments that form a chamber. They normally have open joints or weepholes when part of a surface water drain (one that collects water from the surface of surrounding ground). When used with carrier drains (that take water from place to place), catchpits have closed joints and do not need weepholes.
