1. (rail transport, UK, dated) A pen on a platform in a railway goods yard for cattle travelling by rail.
   • 1962 December, “Talking of Trains: Walsall sundries concentration depot”, in Modern Railways, page 367:

     The depot covers an area of 57 acres and consists of a shed 480ft by 207ft to handle both forwarded and received traffic, a combined office and amenities block, weighbridge and a cattle dock.
