cocked hat double (plural cocked hat doubles)
- (snooker) A type of double of the called ball off three cushions, usually around the colours, with the aim of potting into the centre pocket while keeping the cue ball safe.
- Davis was left with a choice to either double the black into the top right hand pocket, or play the black around the angles with a chance of making a cocked hat double into the centre pocket.
