Welsh[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From cyfraith (law) +‎ -ol.

Pronunciation[edit]

Adjective[edit]

cyfreithiol (feminine singular cyfreithiol, plural cyfreithiol, not comparable)

  1. legal, judicial (related to law)
  2. (obsolete) legal, lawful (allowed by law)

Usage notes[edit]

In the modern language, cyfreithiol means "legal" in the sense of being "judicial, related to law". For the sense of "legal" meaning "lawful, allowed by law", the word cyfreithlon is used instead.
