Etymology[edit]
From Ottoman Turkish دكانجی (dükkâncı, “shopkeeper”), equivalent to dükkân (“shop, store”) + -cı.

dükkâncı (definite accusative dükkâncıyı, plural dükkâncılar)
- storekeeper, shopkeeper, one who runs a shop, either the owner or manager
