dead pool (plural dead pools)

  1. A game of prediction or gambling that involves guessing when people, typically celebrities, will die.
    Synonym: death pool
  2. The point at which a reservoir no longer has enough water to flow downstream of its dam, at which point (for example) a dam's turbines are no longer able to generate power.
