Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish اكرمك. From Proto-Turkic *egir-. Compare to Kumyk ийирмек (iyirmek), Khalaj heyirmək, Uzbek yigirmoq, Old Uyghur [script needed] (eŋir-) and Southern Altai ийирер (iyirer). Compare also Mongolian ээрэх (eerex).
