Tocharian A[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From eṣ, from Proto-Tocharian *onṣä (whence also Tocharian B oṃṣ (above)), from Proto-Indo-European *énu (along, after, above), + the intensifying suffix -k(ä).

Also possibly from Proto-Tocharian *enṣäke. From there, uncertain. Possibly a construct of *e(n)- + a reflex of Proto-Indo-European *segʰ- (to hold). Compare Tocharian B eṃṣke.
