elapsed time (countable and uncountable, plural elapsed times)

  1. (sports, especially drag racing) The duration of time that has passed between the commencement of the event and its completion, irrespective of any time-outs, half-time breaks, or other interruptions.
    Synonym: ET (initialism)
    With a bit of tuning, these cars can run 12-second ETs (elapsed times).
