From Latin cŏrĭum ("skin") with the Ancient Greek prefix ἐπί- ("on top of").

epicorium (plural epicoria)

  1. The pattern of cell wall thickening which forms the ornamentation on spores of certain types of mushroom (especially of family Entolomataceae).
