Latvian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

A word coined in 1963, from the present tense stem es- of the verb būt +‎ -ība, as a better formed synonym of esamība.[1]

A parallel construction exists in Lithuanian but with the sense of "entity, (living) being" rather than "existence": esybė.
