Vietnamese[edit]

Etymology[edit]

This etymology is missing or incomplete. Please add to it, or discuss it at the Etymology scriptorium.
Particularly: “As far as I know, cognates are found only in Cuối Làng Lỡ and similar lects, and considering that these lects specifically have significant Vietnamese influence, borrowing from Vietnamese is very much possible; not much information can be retrieved from the cognate(s) either. The ⟨g⟩ is suggestive of the existence of a presyllable.”
