  1. (forensics) The deposition on paper of a blob of accumulated ink from a ballpoint pen.
    • 1948, Science Digest[1]:
      "Such defects as failure to write, split lines, skipping, lines fainter in one particular direction, gooping (deposition of large droplets of ink), and change in density of line may result from wear, damage, or from improper pen design or [] "
    • 2019, Linton A. Mohammed, Forensic Examination of Signatures[2]:
      Usually, gooping is observed after the pen changes direction, and it should in no way be interpreted as an identifying characteristic.
