Compare Old Javanese gusali (blacksmith). Possibly related to Sanskrit कौशल्य (kauśalya, a kind of pavilion; prosperity; skill; wellness), and Pali kosalla (wellness). See also Sanskrit गोशाला (gośālā, cow-stall).
