Etymology[edit]
From itibapishi (“sibling, friend, one who was nursed together with (someone)”) + -li (“first person singular”), from iti (“each other”) + iba (“with”) + pishi (“suckle”). Compare Creek eta (“the same; oneself; in compounds: joined, two, each other”), pese, epese (“(her) breast”).
