  1. Able to be classified according to a key.
    • 1997, Don L. Jacobs, Rob L. Jacobs, Trilliums in Woodland and Garden: American Treasures, page 38:
      For various reasons, individual specimens are not always keyable to a species name. Some specimens are natural hybrids, and a key may indicate possible parents.
  2. That can be locked and unlocked by a particular type of key.
    • 1977, Coach & Athlete, volume 40, page 37:
      A special feature of the No. 401K American key controlled combination padlock is that it is keyable to most Master Lock Co. No. 1525 key systems.
    • 1985, Machine Design, volume 57, numbers 1-6, page 180:
