Volapük[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from English clear (clear (klir) > klil, -r > -l; in Johann Martin Schleyer's Volapük rigik (original Volapük or Old Volapük) most rs were changed to ls (for the ease of Chinese speakers), in Arie de Jong's Volapük perevidöl (revised Volapük) or Volapük nulik [1] (New Volapük)) many of these words (but not all) with ls in them were changed back to rs, e.g., glün > grün, dlim > drim, klig > krig).
