From Proto-Albanian *lumā, from Proto-Indo-European *leu(ə) (dirt). Etymologically identical with Ancient Greek λῦμα (lûma, dirt) (Greek λύμα (lýma)).[1]

Etymology 2[edit]

From Proto-Albanian *lubn-, from Proto-Indo-European *lewbʰ- (to love). Cognate to Latin lubens (willing, (be) fond of something), and ultimately a doublet of lyp, lubi, lugat, and laps.
