metalearning (uncountable)

  1. A branch of metacognition concerned with learning about one's own learning and learning processes.
  2. (computing theory) A form of machine learning where automatic learning algorithms are applied to metadata about machine learning experiments, so that the machine learns how to learn.
  3. (neuroscience) A certain theory about how neurotransmitters facilitate distributed learning mechanisms.
