English[edit]

Etymology[edit]

micro- +‎ typewriter

Noun[edit]

microtypewriter (plural microtypewriters)

  1. A very small typewriter used for typing on labels, file cards, etc.
    • 1981, Helen P. Harrison, Picture Librarianship, page 79:
Most people prefer to use self-adhesive labels with a microtypewriter. If enough information cannot be put on one label another can be used on a different surface of the slide mount.
