[edit]
  • IPA(key): /mjeˈludo/ [mjeˈlu.ð̞o]

Etymology 1

[edit]

From miel (honey) +‎ -udo.

[edit]

mieludo (feminine mieluda, masculine plural mieludos, feminine plural mieludas)

  1. (literally) full of honey
  2. (figuratively) very sweet
    • 2007, Leonardo Castillo Vicioso, El Quijote de Quisqueya, Lulu.com, Capítulo 1, page 10:
¡Ei cariño entre hombres, poi más cariño que sea; no debe de sei demasiado mieludo!
Affection between men, as affectionate as it may be; must not be excessively sweet!
(please add an English translation of this quotation)

Etymology 2

[edit]

This is actually also from miel (honey), except that now it is being used ironically and euphemistically, instead of saying what is really meant, i.e. grasoso (greasy).
