1. (transitive, signal processing) To equalize badly.
   • 1979, Journal - Association for Recorded Sound Collections, page 124:

     At one time, U.S. Decca listed a large number of these performances, pressed on less than the best material, often misequalized, sometimes off pitch.

   • 1981, The Absolute Sound - Volume 6, Issues 21-24, page 73:

     The most common symptom of incorrect equalization (assuming good associated equipment) is a bright, hard, elevated roughness of response above approximately 2 kHz. I think all of us have heard systems misequalized that way.

   • 1988, High Fidelity - Volume 38, Issue 2, page 28:

     If the recording is misequalized, overmiked , or poorly reverbed, the C/II will expose these faults.
