1. (transitive) To mail incorrectly; to send (a letter etc.) to the wrong place.
   • 1936, Decisions of the Comptroller General of the United States, volume 15, page 980:

     As the disbursing clerk, through his employees, mailed the check in accordance with the address furnished him by the Agricultural Adjustment Administration, it seems that no blame can be attached to him for its mismailing.

   • 1976, Transcripts of Developments Tapes, The Regents of the University of California, page 8:

     If the secretary of state mismails it, you are not relieved of liability for filing the report, and, incidentally, there's a $250 fine for not filing it.
