      Owing to the occurrence and economic importance of molybdosis in cattle, this species has been the primary subject of study of molybdenum metabolism.

Usage notes[edit]

Many older dictionaries also list an obsolete meaning as lead poisoning, but there is little evidence of it actually being used that way.
