Etymology[edit]
From Proto-Igboid *ɛ́-nʊ̀̃nʊ́̃. Cognate with Ekpeye ʊ́nʊ̀, Ogbah ńnʊ̀nʊ̀, Ezaa ɛ́nʊ̀, Izi ɛ́nʊ̀, Ukwuani-Aboh-Ndoni ńnʊ́nʊ̀, Ika ńnʊ̀nʊ̀.[1] Further cognates probably include Horom nɔ̀n, Bo-Rukul anón, Ikulu gìnúŋ, Pe i-nol, Yangkam noi, Tarok inyil and Kutep i-noŋ.
