English[edit]

Alternative forms[edit]

Etymology[edit]

non- +‎ argument

Noun[edit]

non-argument (plural non-arguments)

  1. A flawed argument.

Usage notes[edit]

  • The hyphenated form is about twice as common as the solid one in the British corpus and about the same in the American corpus of Google Ngram Viewer.[1] GPO manual item 6.29. recommends to spell non- prefixed words without a hyphen unless an overriding consideration applies.[2]
