Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Proto-Bantu *mʊ̀jòjò (life, spirit; heart). Cognate with Phuthi ḿmoyá (wind; spirit), Kikuyu muoyo (life), Swahili moyo (heart; courage) and Chichewa moyo (life).
