Etymology[edit]
From oní- (“one who has”) + ìwé (“book”) + mẹ́fà (“six”), literally “One characterized by six books”, perhaps referring to the six years of primary school education (Primary 1 - Primary 6) in Nigeria. Compare with oníwèé-mẹ́wàá (“elementary school graduate”)
