Serbo-Croatian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From od- +‎ ići.

Pronunciation[edit]

  • IPA(key): /ǒtiːt͡ɕi/
  • Hyphenation: o‧ti‧ći

Verb[edit]

òtīći pf (Cyrillic spelling о̀тӣћи)

  1. (intransitive) to leave, part, depart
  2. (intransitive) to go away
  3. (intransitive) to set off

Usage notes[edit]

Imperative forms of the verb (odi, odimo, odite) varies by region and dialect (ojdi, ojdimo, ojdite, ođi, ođimo, ođite, otidi, otidimo, otidite, otiđi, otiđimo, otiđite, etc.). Some of those forms are a result of conflation with similar -ći verbs like doći or poći, differing present simple forms and with aorist, which is considered dated and rarely used in some dialects.
