Adjective[edit]

p-type (not comparable)

  1. (physics) (Of a semiconductor) in which conduction is due to the movement of positive holes rather than electrons.
    • 2011, Brian Cox, Jeff Forshaw, The Quantum Universe, Allen Lane, published 2011, page 168:
If we lower the potential of the p-type region then we steepen the step and make it even harder for the electrons and holes to flow across the junction.
