picrel (plural picrels)

(Internet slang, 4chan) A picture attached to a post, especially one on an imageboard.
- 2022 March 28, u/RealMatchesMalonee, “Anon got banned from a gym”, in Reddit‎^[1], r/4chan:
  One thing that I have noticed about greentexts is that the picrels are always top-tier and add to the humor of the greentext. A good picrel is as important as the greentext itself.
- 2022 September 30, u/iam-Cornholio, “Anon summarizes the aspergers experience”, in Reddit‎^[2], r/greentext:
  I wonder if anon took the photo while she was in the restroom or if it bugged him so much he went back to the restaurant to snap the picrel.
(Internet slang, 4chan) Used as a generic substitute for whatever is being indicated by an attached picture.
