  3. Alternative form of precisianist: precisian; a religious purist or Puritan.

Usage notes[edit]

  • The word precisionist is on the order of 20 times less common than pedant,[1] which is a near-synonym. However, unlike pedant, it is morphologically transparent, pointing to the definition.
