  1. Behaviour which appears to be heterosexual but is really homosexual.

      Homosexuality is one of the possible consequences of failing to work out these negative oedipal feelings. Another is pseudoheterosexuality. A man, for instance, might choose a wife (and she needn't look or act "masculine") because she has certain qualities which make her, for him, a stand-in for a male lover.
