  Kad se govori o ekonomskom interesu Španije da zadrži bogatu Kataloniju u svojim granicama, nikada se ne navodi da Katalonija ipak nije najbogatija autonomna regija; Baskija i Navara po BDP-u po stanovniku stoje bolje. Međutim, jako je važan podatak i to da je u Kataloniji puno manje istaknuta klasna raslojenost, što svedoči o stabilnijem ili barem puno manje nestabilnom društvu i siromaštvu.
  When it is being talked about the economic interest of Spain to hold the rich Catalonia in her borders, it is never mentioned that Catalonia is nonetheless not the richest autonomous region; the Basque country and Navarre are more worth according to the BDP per inhabitant. Also, the fact is very important that in Catalonia the class stratification is much less distinguished, which bears witness of a more stable or at least much less unstable community and poverty.
