reverse dictionary (plural reverse dictionaries)

  1. A dictionary in which entries are sorted alphabetically by their last letter, then second-to-last, and so on: Nausicaa would precede Hecuba, which would precede orca; influenza would precede cab, and so on.
  2. A dictionary that lists words under the concepts they describe.
    Synonym: inverted dictionary
