Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Turkic *sasï- (to stink). Cognate with Karakhanid سَسٖيماقْ (sasï̄māq, to stink), Southern Altai сазыыр (sazïïr), etc.

Verb[edit]

sasımak (third-person singular simple present sasır)

  1. (intransitive) to decompose, to decay
  2. (intransitive) to rot and give off bad smell
