shoulder display (plural shoulder displays)

  1. (photography) A small LCD display integrated into the top of certain digital cameras, usually to the right of the viewfinder. It allows the photographer to quickly assess important settings of the camera at a glance, such as aperture, shutter speed, white balance or free space remaining on the memory card.
