  1. (idiomatic, intransitive, chiefly in the negative, of food or drink) To suit one's constitution, so as not to upset one's stomach or make one sick when consumed.
    She's in the bathroom ― I guess the food was not sitting right.
  2. (chiefly in the negative, with with) To make one feel comfortable, to seem appropriate or acceptable to.
