      De soppropo is eene bevallig klimmende rankplant met een' enkelen gelen bloesem; de rondachtige, niet groote bladen (2 Ned. duimen in middellijn) hebben meerendeels zeven ronde takken.
      The bitter melon is a gracefully climbing vine with a single yellow inflorescence; the roundish, not very large leaves (2 Dutch inches in diameter) mostly have seven round branches.
